About Mr. Wilbert Zvakafa
Mr. Wilbert Zvakafa is the University Librarian at the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU). He worked as an Assistant Librarian at Africa University (AU), Mutare, Zimbabwe for ten years before moving to Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) where he served as Sub Librarian before promoted to Deputy Librarian position. Mr Zvakafa left CUT to join ZOU as the University Librarian in 2020.
Mr. Zvakafa holds a Master of Science Honours Degree in Library and Information Science from the National University of Science and technology, (2009). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication Studies from the ZOU (2006). Mr Zvakafa also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from CUT (2019). He also holds a National Certificate and a National Diploma in Library and Information Science from Harare Polytechnic respectively.
Mr. Zvakafa is a member of the Distance Education Association of Southern Africa (DEASA), a member of the Zimbabwe Universities Libraries Consortium (ZULC), a member of the Zimbabwe Libraries Association (ZIMLA), a member of the International Association of Technological Universities Libraries, IATUL, a member of the British Council Library.
Interests in Open Science, Open Access, research data management, social media librarianship, information literacy, and scholarly communication and publishing.
Established an e-Archive for thesis and dissertations at ZOU. I believe that information should be ubiquitous.
